There have been challenges, on the Internet and elsewhere, to the authenticity of the newly unearthed John Kerry cheat sheet used in an exclusive news report by blog.gleeson.us yesterday.

Rather than argue with the substance of the charges in this report, these critics, many of them partisan political operatives, are directing their criticism at one piece of evidence used in this report: the newly unearthed John Kerry cheat sheet, which has been authenticated by our own nameless document experts.

To authenticate the cheat sheet, we superimposed it on a fax of a memo dated August 1, 1972, known to be a forgery. Since the cheat sheet does not line up with the forged memo, our experts concluded that the cheat sheet is genuine.

Digging deeper, we then superimposed the cheat sheet on an animation cel of crime-fighting cheerleader Kim Possible, because we think she’s cute as a bug’s ear.

Finally, further proof of the cheat sheet’s authenticity is found on the upper right corner of the obverse side, where an orange thumbprint has been checked against Senator Kerry’s records at the War Crimes Museum in Hanoi.

We will continue to aggressively pursue all avenues of inquiry; if definitive proof is offered that the cheat sheet is forged, we will be the first to break that story. So far, there is none.
