Good news, for a change. If you’re like me, except nuts, you have probably been wondering, “With so much violence in the world, and so little in the way of affordable drugs, is there any way I, as a moonbat, can personally make a meaningful apology to Saddam Hussein for causing so much hardship to his armies of evil henchmen? Well, not a personal apology, since I didn’t do any of that army stuff. But isn’t there some way to, like, do a, kind of, apology for other people? Like, ‘I’m sorry someone else liberated your country, dude’?”
The answer, my groovy friend, is yes. The folks at forusa.org have assembled an array of snapshots of photogenic narcissists just like you, culled from all across the country, all of whom are convinced that they liberated Iraq, and are dreadfully sorry for the whole affair.
(Note: all images on this post were modified by the author. The original images are at forusa.org.)
Soon they will be forwarding these heartfelt messages of commiseration to Saddam Hussein himself, but time is running out! As their website says, “Last Call for IRAQ Photo Project Join 2,000 people who have already told Iraqis how they feel! Final deadline for submissions: October 12.” Oops. We missed it, huh?
Not to worry, though. Tell ya what. Send your apology to Saddam to me instead. Take a photo of yourself with your like-minded co-apologists, and e-mail it to seangleeson@gmail.com . I’ll post all entries to this blog, so Saddam, who I’m told is a frequent visitor, will know that at least you care. (I may even retouch the photos for clarity.) I am posting the submitted apologies to my Page of Atonement.
A tip of the hat to LGF. A courteous nod to Power Line.
UPDATE: And a hearty bow of obeisance to Kevin at Wizbang, who linked to this noble gesture for peace and Baathist tyranny, right on his blog and everything. He also posted his own Photoshopic translation of one of the heartfelt apologies, which brought a tear to my eye.
I also see Tim Blair is plowing this fertile field.
ANOTHER UPDATE: A gracious welcome to readers of Opinion Journal’s “Best of the Web Today.” If you like this post, you may enjoy this one. And this one is a gem. Stay as long as you want. And tell your friends.
FINAL UPDATE: All kidding aside, please see “All kidding aside.”

See, three smart-aleck entries in one day. He was all geared up to work today but Fedex didn’t make it. Look at how his energies got focused instead.
Whereas *I* cleaned up the living room and started to knit a scarf. Not to mention kept 4 count them 4 children alive and well and reasonably happy.
I guess I’ll stop blogging in your blog.
Oh wait this is my blog.
Love you darlin :-*
I love you too, but you know I can’t leave my studio without a scarf. How’s that coming? Glad to hear the kids are okay.
Sean,
That is funny stuff!
Keep up the anti-PC work!
LGF fan
These are, uhm, GREAT!
“I am SORRY the STATE RAPISTS have been shot, I wanted them CASTRATED!”
“I am SORRY Uday and Qusay died, I wanted them tortured by Iraqi citizens first!”
“I am SORRY we waited 12 years to act in our RUSH TO WAR. We could have saved millions of Iraqis 11 years of pain and suffering!”
“I am SORRY moonbats gather around Lady Libery’s light… they are herded into Gulags in North Korea!”
Oh my goodness! I ran into your comment at Tim Blair’s site, and I thought I should find out who you were before making a judgement. You are Hilarious! I thought you were some leftie! Then I saw your site! You are alright, dude. I have a new idea for an article! Don’t judge a comment w/o reading the author! Thanx.
Correction: w/o VISITING the author.
All Apologies
Not exactly from the For Iraq photo project, but probably closer to the truth… Sean Gleeson has a whole collection called, “Apologizing to Saddam is groovy.” He’s also taking submissions at his Page of Atonment….
Apologizing For The Left-Wing Opposition
Some of my friends & I found the “Apologize for America” project a tad it offensive. So we’ve launched our…
The fact that the first picture is from Wilmington, DE makes me want to move. (I don’t know anyone in that picture, thank goodness.)
Yours, however, are hilarious.
Cute, but I was told of an even more clever stunt pulled at the gates of Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, many years back.
This was a favorite site for anti-nuclear protestors during the height of the Cold War, since Sandia National Laboratories is located on the base, along with (reputedly) a sizeable arsenal of nukes.
At the height of one of the protests, so the story goes, a V.W. pulled up across the street from the protestors. A mime stepped out and began marching around with his own protest sign.
Naturally, the sign was completely blank.
It would be hard to come up with a more eloquent commentary on the vapidness of the protest culture.
But Kent, that was me!
(UPDATE: Oops. I read your comment too hastily. That wasn’t me. Sorry.)
Ha! Funny, funny stuff, Sean- thanks for sharing!
Sorry about that Chief
As the Dianification of the western world continues apace, left-leaning church-going folk have lately stopped kniting woollen hand grenade covers for Chechen terrorists, and are now being photographed holding up signs apologising for the liberation of …
I would just like to say that I feel really bad for Saddam’s bladder right now, which, according to my unimpeachable sources, has been near bursting for over a year now. After all, how can you go to the bathroom when your people are in bondage? In the most uber hippie way, I, like, can’t beleive it either, media-brainwashed momma!
The Truth About Liberal Jackasses:
Tim Blair has a photo montage of liberal jackass apologists complete with excellently snarky captions. Check it out here. UPDATE: The website where the photos originated can be found here. Almost funnier than Blair’s article. UPDATE II: Even more here.
Apologizing to Saddam is groovy
Seriously funny stuff….swallow any liquids before you click this link. Or what the hell spit them all over your screen….just not at my house.
I can’t remember how I got here - oh, I think it was LGF, to Tim Blair to you - that’s it! Anyway, hilarious! My four children are wondering why their mom nearly fell off her chair… Keep it up!
False Apologies
Powerline posts contempt for leftists who apologize for U.S. actions in Iraq. But they don’t get into exactly what is so contemptible.
I think I know. They aren’t really apologizing!
UPDATE: Truly funny photoshops and captions at Tim Blair and

Response to Apologies
I had to get in on this, (first seen with hilarious commentary here.) Notice the compassionate head-tilt on the terrorist on second from the right. They’re quite caring….
Terrifying
Tim Blair has collected what could be the scariest roundup of moonbats willing to be photographed, see link above.
Just because he can, Sean Gleeson has taken to doctoring some of the signs, which is actually a vast improvement,
We (heart) Saddam…
We (heart) Saddam I (heart) you too! A group of idiots calling themselves the “Fellowship of Reconciliation” have for…
Hilarious! Nuff said.
Another reason I believe in “peace through superio
UPDATE: Wizbang is getting into it, too!
And Sean Gleason bangs ‘em out.
I loved the pics. I can’t stand the idiots in them, but your creative amendments were great.
The punchlines are getting louder
Which side of the joke are you going to be on?
Over at Sean Gleeson’s blog posts are flooding in from participants in the Page of Atonement. I am laughing as I type because I just realized that the reason this page exists is also to learn you but …
I’m sure there’ll be plenty of these coming…I’ve linked to it.
If I find any on other sites I’ll try to let you know…

All Apologies
In order to fully express the sorrow that our ending Saddam’s reign of terror has brought them, a bunch of anti-war kooks are sending pictures of themselves (holding all the usual moonbat slogans) to the Iraq Photo Project… and Sean…
YAY, SEAN!!!!!!!!!!
Carradine: ooh, good idea. i’m tempted to take a photo of myself holding a “i’m sorry we waited 12 years to kick saddam’s worthless ass” sign and submit it to that site.
The Sorry Americans
Okay, really these are “anti-war” protestors (for background info, see Powerline and LGF ) who’ve foolishly allowed themselves to be set up for my photoshop work. Hint to the terminally stupid: Don’t seek out 14-year old girls in chat…
Apologists
So everybody (and by everybody I mean Tim Blair, Sean Gleason and Mudville Gazette) is talking about the For Iraq photo project. Mostly, they are making fun of it, and rightfully so. In fact, I’ll be making fun of it…
Damn, the kooks get deeper, and proud. Go look at the rest of the site and the talking points on their Iraq petition. Turn recontruction over to the U.N. Oil for food turns to oil for bricks. French chateaus for all Iraqis!
aw crap…the second picture (the cholestoral one)….man..those heads are from my town in Dullawhere. Nuts. The Moonbats are migrating.
I just got here via Instapundit . I live alone except for three large birds and one cat and they have been looking at me like I’m crazy because of all my laughing.
Absolutely great!
Apologies accepted
Sam Gleeson uses some graphics martial arts on the latest moonbat feel-good do-nothing fad. More apologies are arriving at Gleeson’s Page of Attonement (and Tim Blair has the originals). “With so much violence in the world, and so little in…
Funny, all those people apologizing aren’t asking that Saddam be returned to power and given his country back. He’s not dead, he’s in prison.
Oh! I get it. You wanted him removed, but you didn’t want it to look like you did it! Typical idiocy in America. Peace, love, Dope!
Don’t they sell makeup in any of these moonbat places? Talk about ugly women! The jihadists won’t think America a worthy place to rape and pillage. Um..on second thought yes they will!

For Iraq Photo Project
Whoa! I can not ——- believe this —-. These people are absolutely nuts! They are planning on taking these pictures with signs saying “We are so sorry for war” and sending them to Saddam Hussein.
My first question is, if they feel so sorry fo…
Do these people who held up the signs understand that in Iraq under Saddam they would have their arms and legs cut off in front of their families or their wives and daughters would be raped and killed in front of them? Sorry indeed!
Great to see the old ladies posing in front of a Catholic religious icon, a statue of the Virgin Mary.
I’m sure our enemies will appreciate the sentiment.
My Response to Apologise for America
Several blogs including Powerline, IpseDixit, Wizbang and Sean Gleeson are posting responses to the”apologise for America” movement, a project of the far-left “Fellowship of Reconciliation.” From Powerline - “The idea is for “ordinary Americans”–that …
Political WTF
Political WTF
Very clever indeed. I figure someone would photoshop those picture, but alas i’m not skilled enough to produce that quality (nor funny enough, but that’s a different subject)
Apologies to Iraq
The FOR Iraq Photo Project has photos of groups of folks holding up signs apologizing for the invasion of Iraq. (No apologies for letting Saddam…
Nice Photoshopping
Sean Gleeson - Apologizing to Saddam is groovy They’re unbelievable, those folks who think the Iraqis are being brutalized by the US. I have no problem with folks who oppose the war in Iraq, as long as they’re not goobers….
Too funny!
Thanks, Sean, for letting us know that the missing link is, indeed, more than one individual. I am embarrassed for these people. They should go back to reading their worn out issues of “Mother Jones” and leave the thinking to those who actually read and understand history. I think the battle cry of “Go talk to a Kurd” should be yelled in each one of these peacenik’s ears. Talk to the ones who have suffered you hemp-wearing, Boca Burger-eating, Michael Moore-loving moonbats!
Useless Idiots
This gallery of drooling idiots demonstrates beyond a doubt that the American left is a group of mentally ill freaks who have brought their status as social pariah on themselves.
Wait Six Meat - you’re saying they’re NOT funny?
I am sorry that Justin Eagle was so rude to you. It was clearly inappropriate and unproductive for him to go off like that. We all make mistakes sometimes, especially when we are angry. I understand why he was angry. The history of Iraq is a troubled one, and the U.S. has played a very big role in making it so. We have made some big mistakes and we have much to apologize for. Just a couple of examples. For ten years after the Gulf war the U.S. imposed and enforced sanctions on Iraq which prevented the country from getting food, medicine and clean water. As a result of these sanctions half a million children under the age of five died. This is a fact reported by UNICEF. Almost every family in Iraq has watched a child die, with no hope of treatment or help and they know that the U.S. is responsible. Personally, I want to apologize for that. Then there is Abu Ghraib. I’m sure we can agree that was wrong. When civilized people do something wrong, they apologize. I don’t think that half a million dead children or people being tortured and humiliated is a joke. I don’t think that people expressing grief or remorse for allowing these things to occur is a joke, either. If the world hates the U.S. it might be because we have a very easy life here and it looks to many people like we think their suffering is a joke.
Heather, I agree that the United States has made errors vis-a-vis Iraq. You correctly observe that the sanctions were ineffectual. President Bush and I agree with you. That’s why he lifted the sanctions.
But these Forusa people were not apologizing for the sanctions. Their signs did not read, “We’re sorry we imposed sanctions for twelve years instead of liberating your country.” They were instead apologizing for the first good thing we’ve ever done for Iraq.
Ante Up
I went to Sean Gleeson’s site, where this graphic designer has re-written the sandwich board apologies of foggy-minded Americans. From there, I went on to rewrite his mission statement, according to the perspective of founder Ronald Reagan. Then I went…
Actually Sean, if you read the signs people are holding most of them apologize for the suffering of the Iraqi people caused by the U.S. and many apologize for torture, refering to Abe Ghraib. Some do indeed apologize for the war. If you go to the FOR USA website you will see that this is a faith-based group who opposes war and violence in all it’s forms and works to promote nonviolent means for resolving conflict. If you are not familiar with nonviolent conflict resolution it might sound strange and unrealistic, but history has shown that this is the only way to resolve conflict that does not lead to more violence and death.
I also think that it is important for us to remember that the U.S. did not begin this war to free the people of Iraq from a dictator. We were told that there were weapons of mass detruction in Iraq that posed an imminant threat to the U.S. Colin Powell testified to the U.N. on this. But suddenly when no weapons that posed a threat were found everyone started saying that we were trying to free the people. It might be OK if this were true but, the people of Iraq still live in fear everyday. How exactly have we helped them?
We have helped them by deposing Saddam Hussein, and allowing them to rule their own country. We continue to help them, at considerable cost in lives and treasure, by fighting the Baathist terrorists, who keep blowing them up. That’s why the prime minister of Iraq came all the way here, just to thank us.
I agree with you, that “the U.S. did not begin this war to free the people of Iraq from a dictator.” The U.S. did not begin this war, period. We’re in this war whether we fight back or not (and only one candidate wants to fight back). In the course of fighting for our own lives, we happen to have done a good turn for the Iraqis. Yeah, they still live in fear, but not of us; we’re the guys killing the guys they fear. Their greatest fear is that John Kerry might win the presidency, and abandon them to their butchers.
When did Iraq threaten the U.S.?
July 16, 1979 through April 9, 2003. So what do you think of my happy new speech balloon graphics for comments?
Sean, the fact is that the Administration lied about the WMD threat, which thus renders worthless any ancillary gains in human rights for the people of Iraq.. JK LOL
Hey, LOVE the speech balloon graphics. They give a whole new meaning to the word membership!
