To all my regular readers (hi, Dad) I should explain that I haven’t been posting very often, because I am very busy working on a design project. Next week things will be back to normal. Unfortunately.
Matthew Gilbert Gleeson will be baptized this Sunday, Oct. 24, after the 5:00 Mass, at St. Michael’s Chapel in Bethany, Oklahoma.
Y’all want to come? St. Michael’s is the prettiest little chapel you’ve ever seen, nestled in a wooded area with a pond. The pond usually has ducks and turtles and other critters, though the ducks may have headed south by now. The chapel is home to the Oklahoma City Latin Mass Community, which is a mission of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter.
Being all nestled like that, St. Michael’s (at 4703 N. McMillan Ave.) can be difficult to find. The only way to reach the chapel is to get to the intersection of Council Rd. and 50th, then go west on 50th for a block or so, then take a left turn onto McMillan Ave. Follow McMillan all the way down until it ends. Then take a right, and there you are at St. Michael’s. You are now right where their parking lot would be, if they had a parking lot, which they don’t. Park on the grass.
Everyone is welcome to attend. I should add that only Roman Catholics in a state of grace may partake of Communion. And, um, those little dishes of holy water by the doors are not ashtrays.
