It’s not that I don’t have a preferred candidate for the next pope; I’ve been a fan of a certain cardinal for a long time. But what’s important is the Holy Ghost’s preferred candidate. The only electors are the cardinals, and I would not presume to educate their graces from my chair in Oklahoma. I pray that they will be guided by God to choose the man who will best serve God’s purposes. Amen.
On other sites, there’s been much speculation about who will become the next pope. There has even been cheerleading for particular candidates, and one site is even taking bets on the outcome of the election. I find all such stuff unseemly, even if it is done with good intentions.
So you can imagine my disgust at this:
Meanwhile, I’ll be in conclave this week handing out goodie bags and running for pope. Wish me well!
Yours,
