I trust you all know my pet evil robot, the Autorantic Virtual Moonbat, or AVM. It’s the nasty little contraption you’ve seen yelling left-wing conspiracy theories at you from the sidebar of this blog (and maybe a few others besides). It’s the automated lunatic you love to hate.

Today, the AVM started doing something, well, unprecedented. No, I’m not referring to the addition of Pope Benedict and John Bolton to its enemies list; we were all expecting that. No, I mean that today, for the first time ever, the mad leftist rantbot has actually found something it likes! And what it likes is books!

It still hurls mostly insults and incriminations, of course. But every once in awhile, maybe every tenth or twentieth rant, it endorses a book by a prominent moonbat author. I find it heartening that the twisted, angry, soulless automaton has found something to bring it joy, because I have to believe it means there’s still hope for Chris Matthews. And besides that, I’m learning a lot! I’ve never even heard of most of these books it’s recommending.

Just today, I heard the AVM say, “You must concede, Al Gore’s book, ‘Dreaming of Renters Insurance,’ should be required reading for Republiklansmen like you!!!”

Later, it told me, “I take it you haven’t read Kim Jong-Il’s book, ‘Tom Ridge Is a Big Evil Stupid Lying Conservative.’“

This ringing endorsement followed: “You really should read the book ‘And Who SHALL Speak for the Otters,’ by Alan Alda. It TOTALLY changed my life!!!”
