Last year, I took the whole Weblog Awards thing more seriously than this year. Not only did I repeatedly badger my own readers, but I even trolled for votes in the comments on other blogs. I really wanted that award. And I won it, too, fair and square, by about 18 votes.

This year, I’m lowering my sights. I am honored to be a finalist in two categories, but I don’t think I have a chance of winning either of them, and I’m not going to bother you about them. Not a lot. I might not post about the contest again, until it ends, when I’ll congratulate the winners.

That being said, please don’t miss The Gleeson Tour of Blog Design, our tongue-in-cheek look at all 15 contestants in the Best Blog Design category. It’s just funny, is all. (By way of full disclosure, very little of it is true.)

And I would like you to vote for Sean Gleeson in the Top 1751-2500 category if you get a chance. I don’t expect to come in first, but for cryin’ out loud, I am lagging 17 votes behind the pornography blog! There is no dishonor in losing to Cam Edwards or any of the other fine blogs in that group, but you won’t let me finish behind a sleaze monger, will you?
