It was four years ago this very day, that Bill Quick coined the word ‘Blogosphere.’

I like the word, but pace Mr. Quick, I’m not sure it should still be a proper noun. Many English words begin their lives as proper nouns, but eventually lose their initial majuscule through usage. (This process is called ‘depropernounifying,’ or something.) I am inclined to think the time is near when the Blogosphere should become the blogosphere, but disinclined to argue the point.
