NBC has cancelled its controversial drama series “The Book of Daniel,” in the wake of protests by Christian groups that the show’s portrayal of Christians was hurtful and offensive.
“We apologize for the perception that our show was meant to insult Christians,” said the show’s creator in a terse statement. “That was never our intention, not at all.”
The network has announced a replacement for the Friday night slot. “Hitting Christians with Big Bricks” is a new reality show in which contestants hurl cinder blocks from a high structure at Christians on the street below.
