It was six days ago that our daughter Beatrice Anna Gleeson was baptized and received into the Church. It’s been pretty busy around here, but I am finally posting the photos of this blessed event tonight.

The Baptism Rite begins at the entrance to the church, where the candidate is asked if she really wants to get baptized. If the answer is in the affirmative (and I’ve never seen anyone turn it down at this stage), she is exorcised of all evil spirits who may be lurking around, and escorted into the church.

At the Baptismal Font, holy water is poured over the forehead, while the priest says, “Ego te baptizo in nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti, amen.” It is at this very instant that the sacrament indelibly marks her soul as part of Christ’s mystical body, and the candidate becomes a born-again Christian, like me.

Our gratitude goes to Father Howard Remski, FSSP, for administering the Baptism. Here he is holding Trixie, and saying a prayer to the Blessed Virgin. There’s a statue of Mary in that niche, but I reckon maybe it can’t be photographed.

And more gratitude goes to Rebecca Frech, Beatrice’s godmother. Isn’t she just lovely?
And also to Pajamas Media, who support our family so that we may bring you breaking news like this.
And gratitude most emphatically to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
